چکیده

lowed by determination of radioactivity in respiratory COj, protein, lipids, organic acids, and free amino acids. The greatest quantitative and qualitative changes in asparagine metabolism were found in lymphosarcoma with leukemic blood picture. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia resembled the normal pattern with acute lymphocytic leukemia occupying an intermediate position. With pro gression of chronic lymphocytic leukemia, changes in asparagine metabolism occurred.

Current applications and different approaches for microbial l-asparaginase production

l-asparaginase (EC 3.5.1.1) is an enzyme that catalysis mainly the asparagine hydrolysis in l-aspartic acid and ammonium. This enzyme is presented in different organisms, such as microorganisms, vegetal, and some animals, including certain rodent's serum, but not unveiled in humans. It can be used as important chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of a variety of lymphoproliferative disorder...

Cxvi. the Enzymic Deamidation of Asparagine

THE occurrence of asparagine in the higher plant and its role in protein metabolism have formed the subject of numerous investigations. It has been found that the amount normally present in the green plant is very small and it is only under artificial conditions, associated with a carbohydrate deficiency, that an accumulation of this substance is ever obtained. E. Schulze [1906], in a series of...
